A Resolution Waiving the Public Bidding Process and

Authorizing the Purchase of Ten Motorola APX7000 800mz Portable Radio Units

 

Body

Whereas, pursuant to a two-thirds vote of the Village Board of Trustees, the Board may waive the requirements of the Village Code of Ordinances and the Illinois Municipal Code to competitively bid certain contracts for the procurement of goods and services or performance of certain work; and

 

                     Whereas, the Village of Romeoville desires to enter into that certain agreement for the purchase of ten (10) 800mz portable radio units; and

 

                     Whereas, the Police Department will be using $60,000.00 from approved 18-19 budget funds for the purchase of the new 800mz portable radio units; and

 

                     Whereas, Motorola is the only manufacturer of the APX7000 800mz portable radio unit with the features required by the police department.

 

                     NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE VILLAGE OF ROMEOVILLE, WILL COUNTY, ILLINOIS:

 

                     SECTION ONE.  The forgoing Recitals are hereby incorporated into this resolution as if fully set forth in this Section 1.

 

SECTION TWO.                     The competitive bidding process of the Village of Romeoville Code of Ordinances and the Illinois Municipal Code is hereby waived, and staff of the Village are hereby authorized and directed to execute and agreement with Motorola for the purchase of ten (10) Motorola APX7000 800mz Portable Radio units in the amount not to exceed $60,000.00.

 

                     SECTION THREE.                     That the various provisions of this Resolution are to be considered severable and if any part or portion of this Resolution shall be held invalid by any Court of competent jurisdiction, such decision shall not affect the validity of the remaining provisions of this Resolution

 

SECTION FOUR.                     All prior Resolutions and Resolutions, or parts thereof in conflict or inconsistent with this Resolution are hereby expressly repealed only to the extent of such conflict or inconsistency.

 

SECTION FIVE.                     This Resolution shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage, approval and publication in pamphlet form as provided by law.
