A Resolution Waiving the Bidding Requirements and Accepting the Proposal from Axon Enterprises for the Purchase of Fleet Vehicle Camera Systems and Enter into a Multi-Year Contract for Services for the Five New Police Interceptors

Whereas, The Village of Romeoville ("The Village") is a municipality in accordance with the Constitution of the State of Illinois of 1970; and,
Whereas, The Village will purchase five fleet vehicle camera systems and software from Axon Enterprises Inc as detailed in the proposal and enter into a multi-year service contract, Exhibit A; and,
Whereas, The cost of the equipment and software agreement for the first year is $12,826.23 and within the FY 24/25 Budget is $50,000. The total cost of the contract over the 5 year term for the five vehicles is $69,471.00; and,
Whereas, The Village Staff recommends waiving the bidding requirements for the purchase the fleet vehicle camera systems from Axon Enterprise Inc and enter into a contract for service for the five year term for the five police interceptors utilizing funds in the account 05.11.02.410; and,
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES FOR THE VILLAGE OF ROMEOVILLE, WILL COUNTY, ILLINOIS, AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1: Incorporation of Recitals: The foregoing recitals are hereby incorporated into this Resolution as if fully set forth herein.
Section 2: Waiver of Public Bid Reguirements: Pursuant to the provisions of 65 ILCS 5/8-9-1 and the provisions of the Village Ordinance No. 2793- 00 the Village hereby waives the public bidding requirements otherwise applicable to the purchase of the fleet vehicle camera systems from Axon Enterprise Inc and enter into a contract for service for the five year term for the five police interceptors in the amount of $12,826.23 for the first year and totaling $69,471.00 for the five year term.
Section 3: Repealer: All other Ordinances or parts of ordinances of the Village of Romeoville that are inconsistent with this ordinance are hereby expressly repealed.
Section 4: Severability: In the event any word, phrase, clause, sentence, paragraph, provision, or section of this Resolution or any portion thereof shall be held to be unconstitutional, unenforceable, or void, the same shall not affect the validity or enforceability of any remaining words. phrases, clauses, sentences, paragraphs, or sections thereof.
Section 5: Effective Date: The resolution shall take effect after its passage, approval, and publication in pamphlet form, as provided by law.
