A Resolution to Accept the Lowest Proposal and Enter into a Contract with CBI Services, LLC. for the Construction of a New One-Million-Gallon Water Tower in the Marquette Business Park

Whereas, pursuant to the provisions of 65 ILCS 5/8-9-1 and the provisions of the Village Ordinance No. 2793-00, the Village of Romeoville may vote by 2/3 of its Trustees then holding office to waive the requirements for public bidding on Village public work, or improvement projects; and,

 

Whereas, a bid letting was held on July 1, 2026, for a new 1-million-gallon water tower in the Marquette Business Park; and,

 

Whereas, the funds are approved in account number 64.08.22.409, and,

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF

TRUSTEES FOR THE VILLAGE OF ROMEOVILLE, WILL COUNTY, ILLINOIS,

AS FOLLOWS:

 

Section 1:                     Incorporation of Recitals: The foregoing recitals are hereby incorporated into this Resolution as if fully set forth herein.

 

Section 2:                     Awarding of ContractThe Village of Romeoville approves the lowest proposal received from CBI Services, LLC. for the construction of a new one-million-gallon water tower in the Marquette Business Park in the amount of $7,104,400.00. A bid letting for the new one-million-gallon water tower located in the Marquette Business Park was held on Wednesday, July 1, 2026. The new taller and larger capacity water tower will replace the existing Marquette water storage tanks and provide increased storage capacity, improved water pressure, fire protection and optimize overall system operation as we move towards Lake Michigan water in 2030.

 

Section 3:                     Repealer: All other Ordinances or parts of ordinances of the Village of Romeoville that are inconsistent with this ordinance are hereby expressly repealed.

 

Section 4:                     Severability: In the event any word, phrase, clause, sentence, paragraph, provision, or section of this Resolution or any portion thereof shall be held to be unconstitutional, unenforceable, or void, the same shall not affect the validity or enforceability of any remaining words, phrases, clauses, sentences, paragraphs, or sections thereof.

 

Section 5:                     Effective Date: The resolution shall take effect after its passage, approval, and publication in pamphlet form, as provided by law.
