Waiving the Bidding Process and Accepting the Proposal from Rush Truck Center for Emergency Engine Repairs for Truck 1003

 

body Whereas, pursuant to the provisions of 65 ILCS 5/8-9-1 and the provisions of the Village Ordinance No. 2793-00, the Village of Romeoville may vote by 2/3 of its Trustees then holding office to waive the requirements for public bidding on Village public work, or improvement projects; and,

 

Whereas, the expenditures for the engine replacement for truck 1003 will be expensed from vehicle maintenance fund 05.08.14.265; and,

 

Whereas, Rush Truck Center has provided a proposal to replace the engine with two-year warranty for truck 1003 in the amount of $42,956.57

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES FOR THE VILLAGE OF ROMEOVILLE, WILL COUNTY, ILLINOIS, AS FOLLOWS:

 

Section 1:                     Incorporation of Recitals: The foregoing recitals are hereby incorporated into this Resolution as if fully set forth herein.

 

Section 2:                     Waiver of Public Bid RequirementsPursuant to the provisions of 65 ILCS 5/8-9-1 and the provisions of the Village Ordinance No. 2793-00 the Village hereby waives the public bidding requirements otherwise applicable to the engine replacement for truck 1003. Rush Truck has provided us with a proposal to replace the engine with a two-year warranty in the amount of $42,956.57. Staff is recommending replacement with a remanufactured engine with a two-year warranty.

 

Section 3:                     Repealer: All other Ordinances or parts of ordinances of the Village of Romeoville that are inconsistent with this ordinance are hereby expressly repealed.

 

Section 4:                     Severability: In the event any word, phrase, clause, sentence, paragraph, provision, or section of this Resolution or any portion thereof shall be held to be unconstitutional, unenforceable, or void, the same shall not affect the validity or enforceability of any remaining words, phrases, clauses, sentences, paragraphs, or sections thereof.

 

Section 5:                     Effective Date: The resolution shall take effect after its passage, approval, and publication in pamphlet form, as provided by law.
