A Resolution Accepting the Contract from Kim Construction Company for the 2026 Basin 6 Sanitary Sewer Manhole Rehabilitation Program

Whereas, pursuant to the provisions of 65 ILCS 5/8-9-1 and the provisions of the Village Ordinance No. 2793-00, the Village of Romeoville may vote by 2/3 of its Trustees then holding office to waive the requirements for public bidding on Village public work, or improvement projects; and,
Whereas, a bid letting for the 2026 Sanitary Sewer Manhole Rehabilitation Program was held on Wednesday, August 5, 2026; and,
Whereas, three bids were received, Kim Construction provided the lowest proposal in the amount of $201,550.00; and,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES FOR THE VILLAGE OF ROMEOVILLE, WILL COUNTY, ILLINOIS, AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1: Incorporation of Recitals: The foregoing recitals are hereby incorporated into this Resolution as if fully set forth herein.
Section 2: Awarding of Contract: The Village of Romeoville approves lowest proposal from Kim Construction Company for the 2026 Basin 6 Sanitary Sewer Manhole Rehabilitation Program. This year’s repairs will address manhole deficiencies that were identified in basin 6 during visual and smoke testing inspections done in 2025 by Robinson Engineering.
Section 3: Repealer: All other Ordinances or parts of ordinances of the Village of Romeoville that are inconsistent with this ordinance are hereby expressly repealed.
Section 4: Severability: In the event any word, phrase, clause, sentence, paragraph, provision, or section of this Resolution or any portion thereof shall be held to be unconstitutional, unenforceable, or void, the same shall not affect the validity or enforceability of any remaining words, phrases, clauses, sentences, paragraphs, or sections thereof.
Section 5: Effective Date: The resolution shall take effect after its passage, approval, and publication in pamphlet form, as provided by law.
