A Resolution Accepting the Lowest Bid for the Growing, Supply & Planting Tree Program to The Fields on Caton Farm Inc.

Whereas, pursuant to the provisions of 65 ILCS 5/8-9-1 and the provisions of the Village Ordinance No. 2793-00, the Village of Romeoville may vote by 2/3 of its Trustees then holding office to waive the requirements for public bidding on Village public work, or improvement projects; and,
Whereas, the expenditures for the parkway growing, supply and planting tree program are approved in the FY 25/26 budget; and,
Whereas, a formal bid opening was held on August 27th, of which one company obtained a bid packet, and one bid was received.
Whereas, the bid with the lowest unit prices was submitted by The Fields on Caton Farm Inc.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES FOR THE VILLAGE OF ROMEOVILLE, WILL COUNTY, ILLINOIS, AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1: Incorporation of Recitals: The foregoing recitals are hereby incorporated into this Resolution as if fully set forth herein.
Section 2: Awarding of Contract: The Village of Romeoville awards the contract for the Growing, Supply and Planting Tree Program to The Fields on Caton Farm Inc. for unit price of $350 per tree, not to exceed the current fiscal year budget of $200,000, and establishing the means of the future years’ programs based upon the funding provided in each approved budget for a six-year term. The funding source includes two DCEO grants.
Section 3: Repealer: All other Ordinances or parts of ordinances of the Village of Romeoville that are inconsistent with this ordinance are hereby expressly repealed.
Section 4: Severability: In the event any word, phrase, clause, sentence, paragraph, provision, or section of this Resolution or any portion thereof shall be held to be unconstitutional, unenforceable, or void, the same shall not affect the validity or enforceability of any remaining words, phrases, clauses, sentences, paragraphs, or sections thereof.
Section 5: Effective Date: The resolution shall take effect after its passage, approval, and publication in pamphlet form, as provided by law.
