A Resolution Waiving the Bidding Requirements and Accepting the Proposal from Rod Baker Ford for the Purchase of Two 2025 Ford Police Interceptors

Whereas, The Village of Romeoville (“The Village”) is a municipality in accordance with the Constitution of the State of Illinois of 1970; and,
Whereas, The Village will purchase two ford interceptor police squad vehicles from Rod Baker Ford utilizing the municipal discount pricing which is $314.30 less per unit than the current suburban purchasing cooperative; and,
Whereas, The Village has approved funds in the current FY 25/26 budget for the purchase of these two vehicles. The purchase price each 2025 Ford Police Interceptor is $58,236.70, for a total of $116,473.40; and,
Whereas, The Village Staff recommends waiving the bidding requirements for the purchase of two ford police interceptor vehicles utilizing funds in the account 05.11.02.410; and,
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES FOR THE VILLAGE OF ROMEOVILLE, WILL COUNTY, ILLINOIS, AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1: Incorporation of Recitals: The foregoing recitals are hereby incorporated into this Resolution as if fully set forth herein.
Section 2: Waiver of Public Bid Requirements: Pursuant to the provisions of 65 ILCS 5/8-9-1 and the provisions of the Village Ordinance No. 2793-00 the Village hereby waives the public bidding requirements otherwise applicable to the purchase of two Ford Police Interceptors in the amount of $58,236,70 each, totaling $116,473.40 and an additional $60,000 to various vendors for the equipment and upfitting of the vehicles and provides for the potential additional expenditures for services as authorized by the Village Manager and Village Attorney.
Section 3: Repealer: All other Ordinances or parts of ordinances of the Village of Romeoville that are inconsistent with this ordinance are hereby expressly repealed.
Section 4: Severability: In the event any word, phrase, clause, sentence, paragraph, provision, or section of this Resolution or any portion thereof shall be held to be unconstitutional, unenforceable, or void, the same shall not affect the validity or enforceability of any remaining words, phrases, clauses, sentences, paragraphs, or sections thereof.
Section 5: Effective Date: The resolution shall take effect after its passage, approval, and publication in pamphlet form, as provided by law.
