A Resolution Authorizing a Contract with Safe Step LLC for Sidewalk Analysis and Repair Programs (TIPS Cooperative Purchasing Program)

Whereas, pursuant to the provisions of 65 ILCS 5/8-9-1 and the provisions of the Village Ordinance No. 2793-00, the Village of Romeoville may vote by 2/3 of its Trustees then holding office to waive the requirements for public bidding on Village public work, or improvement projects; and,
Whereas, the expenditures for sidewalk repairs are allocated in the Fiscal Year 2026/2027 Budget; and,
Whereas, proposals combined for a total not to exceed $270,000 have been received from Safe Step LLC for the analysis/data collection for the proposed areas of repairs within the FY 26/27 budget; and,
Whereas, funds have been allocated in the FY 26/27 budget for sidewalk repairs in conjunction with the Street Resurfacing Programs and ADA Sidewalk Repair Program; and,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES FOR THE VILLAGE OF ROMEOVILLE, WILL COUNTY, ILLINOIS, AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1: Incorporation of Recitals: The foregoing recitals are hereby incorporated into this Resolution as if fully set forth herein.
Section 2: Waiver of Public Bid Requirements: Pursuant to the provisions of 65 ILCS 5/8-9-1 and the provisions of the Village Ordinance No. 2793-00 the Village hereby waives the public bidding requirements otherwise applicable to the analysis/data collection and sidewalk repairs from Safe Step LLC for sidewalk trip hazards.
Section 3: Repealer: All other Ordinances or parts of ordinances of the Village of Romeoville that are inconsistent with this ordinance are hereby expressly repealed.
Section 4: Severability: In the event any word, phrase, clause, sentence, paragraph, provision, or section of this Resolution or any portion thereof shall be held to be unconstitutional, unenforceable, or void, the same shall not affect the validity or enforceability of any remaining words, phrases, clauses, sentences, paragraphs, or sections thereof.
Section 5: Effective Date: The resolution shall take effect after its passage, approval, and publication in pamphlet form, as provided by law.
