An Ordinance Amending Chapter 80 (Traffic Schedules)

WHEREAS, the Village has adopted certain ordinances now codified as and for Chapter 80 of the Village Code of Ordinances, pertaining to parking regulation and traffic schedules; and
WHEREAS, after Village staff review, it has been determined that it is in the best interest of the Village to amend said Chapter 80 of the Village Code of Ordinances as hereinafter set forth.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES FOR THE VILLAGE OF ROMEOVILLE, WILL COUNTY, ILLINOIS; THAT:
SECTION 1: RECITALS. The foregoing recitals are hereby incorporated into this Ordinance as if fully set forth herein.
SECTION 2: AMENDMENT TO CHAPTER 80 SCHEDULE I(A-1). That all those heretofore adopted ordinances of the Village codified as and for Chapter 80 Schedule I(A-1) shall hereby be amended by the addition of the following text thereto:
Parkwood Drive, between Greenwood/Forestwood and Ridgewood Avenue
SECTION 2A: AMENDMENT TO CHAPTER 80 SCHEDULE I(A). That all those heretofore adopted ordinances of the Village codified as and for Chapter 80 Schedule I(A) shall hereby be amended by the revision of the text thereto pertaining to parking on Ridgewood Avenue as hereinafter set forth:
Ridgewood Avenue, On the north side of Ridgewood Avenue from Route 53 east 100 feet, with the remaining frontage of the north side of Ridgewood Avenue to be posted as parallel parking only
Ridgewood Avenue, parking prohibited on the south side of Ridgewood Avenue from Route 53 to Rocbaar Drive
SECTION 2B: AMENDMENT TO CHAPTER 80 SCHEDULE I(A-1). That all those heretofore adopted ordinances of the Village codified as and for Chapter 80 Schedule I(A-1) shall hereby be amended by the addition of the following text thereto pertaining to parking on Rocbaar Drive as hereinafter set forth:
Rocbaar Drive, between Ridgewood Avenue and the westernmost driveway serving 260 Rocbaar Drive
SECTION 2C: AMENDMENT TO CHAPTER 80 SCHEDULE I(A). That all those heretofore adopted ordinances of the Village codified as and for Chapter 80 Schedule I(A) shall hereby be amended by the revision of the text thereto pertaining to parking on Phelps Avenue to read as follows:
Phelps Avenue, North/west side, between Illinois Route 53 and Devonwood
Phelps Avenue, South/east side, between Illinois Route 53 and Devonwood, except that parking shall be allowed on the south/east side as posted by signage
SECTION 2D: AUTHORIZATION FOR STRIPING AND SIGNAGE PURSUANT TO CHAPTER 74. That the Department of Public Works is hereby authorized and directed to cause the placement of appropriate signage or striping of the parking prohibitions set forth in Section 2 of this Ordinance, all pursuant to and in furtherance of the provisions of CHAPTER 74.
SECTION 3: SEVERABILITY. That the various provisions of this Ordinance are to be considered severable and if any part or portion of this Ordinance shall be held invalid by any Court of competent jurisdiction, such decision shall not affect the validity of the remaining provisions of this Ordinance.
SECTION 4: CONFLICTS. All prior Ordinances and Resolutions, or parts thereof in conflict or inconsistent with this Ordinance are hereby expressly repealed only to the extent of such conflict or inconsistency.
SECTION 5: EFFECTIVE DATE. This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage, approval and publication in pamphlet form as provided by law.
