An Ordinance Amending Chapter 80, Schedule V (Stop Signs) and Schedule XI (Yield Signs)

Whereas, from time to time the Village of Romeoville has occasion to consider and adopt amendments to the text of its Traffic Schedules, codified as Chapter 80 of the Village Code of Ordinances; and
Whereas, the Village has determined that it is in the best interest of the Village to amend the existing Schedules V and Xi, reflecting certain amendments to stop sign and yield sign intersections within the Village, as more fully hereinafter set forth.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES FOR THE VILLAGE OF ROMEOVILLE, WILL COUNTY, ILLINOIS, AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1: RECITALS. The foregoing recitals are hereby incorporated into this Resolution as if fully set forth herein.
SECTION 2: AMENDMENT OF CHAPTER 80 SCHEDULE V - STOP SIGNS.
Those heretofore adopted Village ordinances codified as and for Chapter 80 Schedule V are hereby amended by the addition of the following text, to be codified as an addition to the existing text of Chapter 80, Schedule V, Part (C), Two Way Stop Sign Intersections:
Farragut and Corona, stop signs at northwest and southeast corners of intersection
Geneva and Corona, stop signs at northwest and southeast corners of intersection
SECTION 2A: AMENDMENT OF CHAPTER 80 SCHEDULE XI(A) - YIELD SIGNS
Those heretofore adopted Village ordinances codified as and for Chapter 80 Schedule XI are hereby amended by the deletion of the following text from the provisions of Chapter 80, Schedule XI, Part (A):
Corona Avenue and Farragut Avenue
Geneva Avenue and Corona Avenue
SECTION 3: AMENDMENT OF CHAPTER 80 SCHEDULE V - STOP SIGNS.
Those heretofore adopted Village ordinances codified as and for Chapter 80 Schedule V are hereby amended by the addition of the following text, to be codified as an addition to the existing text of Chapter 80, Schedule V, Part (D), One Way Stop Intersections:
Farragut and Arcadia, stop sign to be placed at northwest corner of intersection
SECTION 3A: AMENDMENT OF CHAPTER 80 SCHEDULE XI(B) - YIELD SIGNS
Those heretofore adopted Village ordinances codified as and for Chapter 80 Schedule XI are hereby amended by the deletion of the following text from the provisions of Chapter 80, Schedule XI, Part(B), One Way Yield Intersections:
Arcadia Avenue and Farragut Avenue
SECTION 4: AMENDMENT OF CHAPTER 80 SCHEDULE V - STOP SIGNS.
Those heretofore adopted Village ordinances codified as and for Chapter 80 Schedule V are hereby amended by the addition of the following text, to be codified as an addition to the existing text of Chapter 80, Schedule V, Part (B). Three Way Stop Intersections:
Arcadia and Geneva, signs to be placed at southeast corner of Geneva and Arcadia, the northeast corner of Geneva and Arcadia, and on the west side of the intersection of Arcadia and Geneva, in front of 724 Geneva
SECTION 4A: AMENDMENT OF CHAPTER 80 SCHEDULE XI(B)-YIELD SIGNS.
Those heretofore adopted Village ordinances codified as and for Chapter 80 Schedule XI are hereby amended by the deletion of the following text from the provisions of Chapter 80, Schedule XI, Part(B), One Way Yield Intersections:
Arcadia and Geneva
SECTION 5: SEVERABILITY. That the various provisions of this Ordinance are to be considered severable and if any part or portion of this Ordinance shall be held invalid by any Court of competent jurisdiction, such decision shall not affect the validity of the remaining provisions of this Ordinance.
SECTION 6: CONFLICTS. All prior Ordinances and Resolutions, or parts thereof in conflict or inconsistent with this Ordinance are hereby expressly repealed only to the extent of such conflict or inconsistency.
SECTION 7: EFFECTIVE DATE. This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage, approval and publication in pamphlet form as provided by law.
