A Resolution Authorization an Amendment to Tecorp Inc. Contract for Additional Coating of Airport Road Lift Station

Whereas, pursuant to the provisions of 65 ILCS 5/8-9-1 and the provisions of the Village Ordinance No. 2793-00, the Village of Romeoville may vote by 2/3 of its Trustees then holding office to waive the requirements for public bidding on Village public work, or improvement projects; and,
Whereas, previously approved Resolution 23-3400 authorized entering into contract with Tecorp Inc. for the internal and external coating repairs of the Airport Road and Samsung Lift Stations; and,
Whereas, an increase of $30,000 to the amount originally authorized for Telecorp Inc. to perform internal and external coating repairs; and,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES FOR THE VILLAGE OF ROMEOVILLE, WILL COUNTY, ILLINOIS, AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1: Incorporation of Recitals: The foregoing recitals are hereby incorporated into this Resolution as if fully set forth herein.
Section 2: Adjustment of Contract: The Village of Romeoville approves an increase in the amount of $30,000 for the contract with Tecorp Inc. Upon entering the tank Tecorp Inc. personnel informed the engineer and owner that the areas above the 12’ are showing significant coating delamination. The delamination was not isolated to one section or specific area and was throughout the remainder of the lift station. In order to perform a quality coating, the entire list station requires abrasive blasting and coating per the same specification of the bottom 12’. If the remainder of the lift station is not coated the areas of delamination will allow corrosion to form and cause damage to the steel subsurface. Additionally, since there is no consistent area that is tightly adhered, the new coating cannot be tied into the existing coating which would leave a gap of exposed steel.
Section 3: Repealer: All other Ordinances or parts of ordinances of the Village of Romeoville that are inconsistent with this ordinance are hereby expressly repealed.
Section 4: Severability: In the event any word, phrase, clause, sentence, paragraph, provision, or section of this Resolution or any portion thereof shall be held to be unconstitutional, unenforceable, or void, the same shall not affect the validity or enforceability of any remaining words, phrases, clauses, sentences, paragraphs, or sections thereof.
Section 5: Effective Date: The resolution shall take effect after its passage, approval, and publication in pamphlet form, as provided by law.
