A Resolution to Accept a Bid and Award a Contract to Innovation Landscape Inc. for the Wesglen Park Playground Redevelopment (4 Bids received) and to Waive the Bids and Authorize the purchase of a mono slope shelter from Parkreation Inc.

WHEREAS, the Village held a bid opening on August 11, 2026 for the Wesglen Park Playground Redevelopment and the low bidder was Innovation Landscape Inc. with a base bid and contingency in the amount of $419,518.13 plus Alternative 1 for certain electrical, light and camera work at an additional $135,066.35; and
WHEREAS, in connection therewith, the Village desires to purchase a mono slope shelter from Parkreation for installation as part of the improved playground in the amount of $21,242.00
WHEREAS, pursuant to the provisions of 65 ILCS 5/8-9-1 and the provisions of Chapter 36.43(C) of the Village Code of Ordinances, the Village of Romeoville may by a vote of 2/3 of its Trustees then holding office, waive the otherwise applicable requirements for public bidding, whether for labor, services or work, the construction of public works or improvements, or the purchase, lease or sale of personal property, materials, equipment or supplies; and

NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES FOR THE VILLAGE OF ROMEOVILLE, WILL COUNTY, ILLINOIS, that:
Section 1: Incorporation of Recitals: The foregoing recitals are hereby expressly incorporated into and made a part of this Resolution as if fully set forth herein.
Section 2: Waiver of Public Bid Requirements: The Village hereby accepts the low bid for the Wesglen Park Playground Redevelopment in the amount of $419,518.13 plus Alternative 1 for certain electrical, light and camera work at an additional $135,066.35 and further, pursuant to the provisions of 65 ILCS 5/8-9-1 and the provisions of Chapter 36.43(C) of the Village Code of Ordinances the Corporate Authorities of the Village hereby waive the public bidding requirements otherwise applicable to the purchase of a mono slope shelter from Parkreation Inc. in the amount of $21,242.00. The proper officers of the Village are also authorized to execute such contracts, purchase orders and other documents as may reasonably be required in connection therewith.
Section 3: Repealer: All other Resolutions or parts of ordinances of the Village of Romeoville that are inconsistent with this ordinance are hereby expressly repealed.
Section 4: Severability: In the event any word, phrase, clause, sentence, paragraph, provision, or section of this Resolution or any portion thereof shall be held to be unconstitutional, unenforceable, or void, the same shall not affect the validity or enforceability of any remaining words, phrases, clauses, sentences, paragraphs, provisions, or sections thereof.
Section 5: Effective Date: This Resolution shall take effect after its passage, approval, and publication in pamphlet form, as regulated by law.
