An Ordinance Amending Chapter 112 (Alcoholic Beverages) of the Village of Romeoville Code of Ordinances

WHEREAS, the licensing and regulation of the sale of alcoholic beverages within the Village of Romeoville is a matter greatly affecting the health, safety, morals, and welfare of the residents of the Village of Romeoville; and
WHEREAS, the Village of Romeoville has the authority to regulate the sale of alcoholic beverages within the Village of Romeoville pursuant to Article 4 of the Liquor Control Act of 1934,235 ILCS 5/4-1 et. seq.; and
WHEREAS, the Hampton Park Social Athletic Club and Taco Loco wish to be granted a special event liquor license for RomeoFest; and
WHEREAS, issuance of the special event liquor licenses are subject to final approval by the Local Liquor Control Commissioner pending the submittal of application;
WHEREAS, at the direction of the President and Board of Trustees of the Village of Romeoville, the Village staff has reviewed those ordinances of the Village of Romeoville pertaining to the licensing and regulation of the sale of alcoholic beverages and video gaming within the Village of Romeoville; and
WHEREAS, based upon said review, the President and Board of Trustees have determined that it is in the best interests of the Village of Romeoville and its residents to decrease the number of liquor licenses available and increase the number of gaming endorsements available in certain license classifications.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF
TRUSTEES OF THE VILLAGE OF ROMEOVILLE, WILL COUNTY, ILLINOIS, THAT:
SECTION 1: Amendment to Chapter 112.055 -
A. Notwithstanding any contrary provision of this Chapter 112.055, the total number of Class L-1 Liquor Licenses that shall be available for issuance in association with RomeoFest 2026 is two (2), provided, however, that no such licenses shall actually be issued or approved until such time as Hampton Park Social Athletic Club and Taco Loco shall have applied for and been approved for the issuance thereof.
SECTION 2: REPEALER -All Ordinances or parts of Ordinances in conflict with any of the provisions of this Ordinance shall be, and the same are hereby repealed.
SECTION 3: EFFECTIVE DATE -This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage, approval and publication in pamphlet form as provided by law.
SECTION 4: SEVERABILITY -In the event that any section, term or provision of this Ordinance, or the application thereof to any person or circumstance is held invalid by a court of competent jurisdiction, such invalidity shall not affect other sections, terms, provisions or applications of this Ordinance which can be given effect without the invalidity, and any such invalid sections, terms, provisions or applications shall be deemed severable from this Ordinance.
