A Resolution Approving an Agreement for Joint Improvements at the Airport Road Water Delivery Structure with the Grand Prairie Water Commission

Whereas, the Village of Romeoville (“The Village”) is a municipality in accordance with the Constitution of the State of Illinois of 1970; and,

 

Whereas, the expenditures for the joint improvements at the Airport Road water delivery structure with the Grand Prairie Water Commission are allocated in account number 64.08.22.409; and,

 

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES FOR THE VILLAGE OF ROMEOVILLE, WILL COUNTY, ILLINOIS, AS FOLLOWS:

 

Section 1:                     Incorporation of Recitals: The foregoing recitals are hereby incorporated into this Resolution as if fully set forth herein.

 

Section 2:                     Awarding of Contract: The Grand Prairie Water Commission held a bid opening on April 2, 2026, that included the installation of the village’s secondary Lake Michigan Water delivery structure located at the existing Airport Road Pumping Station. The commissions contract is being awarded to Williams Brothers Construction, Inc. at a cost of $5,590,000.00. As part of this project the village has agreed to a Joint Project IGA with the commission for additional village specific work to be performed by the contractor. This work includes, extending a 12” watermain with valves from the new commissioned owned infrastructure to the existing Airport Rd. reservoir fill line. The village’s portion of the work to be authorized and deposited to the commission is $166,500.00.

 

Section 3:                     Repealer: All other Ordinances or parts of ordinances of the Village of Romeoville that are inconsistent with this ordinance are hereby expressly repealed.

 

Section 4:                     Severability: In the event any word, phrase, clause, sentence, paragraph, provision, or section of this Resolution or any portion thereof shall be held to be unconstitutional, unenforceable, or void, the same shall not affect the validity or enforceability of any remaining words, phrases, clauses, sentences, paragraphs, or sections thereof.

 

Section 5:                     Effective Date: The resolution shall take effect after its passage, approval, and publication in pamphlet form, as provided by law.
