A Resolution Waiving the Bidding Requirements and Accepting the Contract for J. Congdon Sewer Service to Install a New Water Service Line at RC Hill Elementary School

Whereas, pursuant to the provisions of 65 ILCS 5/8-9-1 and the provisions of the Village Ordinance No. 2793-00, the Village of Romeoville may vote by 2/3 of its Trustees then holding office to waive the requirements for public bidding on Village public work, or improvement projects; and,
Whereas, the expenditures for the installation of a new water service line at RC Hill Elementary School will be expensed in account number 01.08.08.277; and,
Whereas, J. Congdon Sewer Service has provided a price of $27,543.33; and,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES FOR THE VILLAGE OF ROMEOVILLE, WILL COUNTY, ILLINOIS, AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1: Incorporation of Recitals: The foregoing recitals are hereby incorporated into this Resolution as if fully set forth herein.
Section 2: Waiver of Public Bid Requirements: Pursuant to the provisions of 65 ILCS 5/8-9-1 and the provisions of the Village Ordinance No. 2793-00 the Village hereby waives the public bidding requirements otherwise applicable for the installation of a new water service line at RC Hill Elementary School. The Village is currently under contract with J Congdon Sewer Service, Inc. for the Sub 5 Watermain Replacement Project that is currently underway and scheduled for completion this spring. J Congdon has provided a price of $27,543.33 to install the new exterior waterline to the school’s property during this year’s spring break period to avoid any interruptions when the school is in session.
Section 3: Repealer: All other Ordinances or parts of ordinances of the Village of Romeoville that are inconsistent with this ordinance are hereby expressly repealed.
Section 4: Severability: In the event any word, phrase, clause, sentence, paragraph, provision, or section of this Resolution or any portion thereof shall be held to be unconstitutional, unenforceable, or void, the same shall not affect the validity or enforceability of any remaining words, phrases, clauses, sentences, paragraphs, or sections thereof.
Section 5: Effective Date: The resolution shall take effect after its passage, approval, and publication in pamphlet form, as provided by law.
