A Resolution Approving an Employee Health Savings Account Incentive

WHEREAS, the Village of Romeoville provides health insurance coverage to all full time employees; and
WHEREAS, in the course of the renewal of the Village's group health insurance coverage, the Village has determined that the cost of such insurance has increased dramatically, and that the costs for which employees may be responsible under such coverage has likewise increased dramatically; and
WHEREAS, in an effort to mitigate some of the financial impacts posed to Village employees as a result of the group insurance renewal, the Village desires to provide all full time Village employees receiving Village group health insurance coverage with a contribution to each Village employee's Health Savings Account, as more fully hereinafter set forth.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE VILLAGE OF ROMEOVILLE, WILL COUNTY, ILLINOIS:
SECTION ONE. The foregoing Recitals are hereby incorporated into this resolution as if fully set forth in this Section 1.
SECTION TWO. The Village of Romeoville shall hereby provide contributions to employee Health Savings Accounts in accordance with the following conditions:
a. Eligible employees shall be full time employees receiving group health insurance coverage through their Village employment. Retirees shall not be eligible to receive the contribution provided for herein.
b. Eligible employees receiving single coverage shall be eligible for a one time contribution to their Health Savings Account of $1,000.00.
c. Eligible employees receiving family coverage, employee and spousal coverage or employee and children coverage shall be eligible for a one time contribution to their Health Savings Account of $2,000.00.
d. The contribution shall be made via an addition to the employee's first regular paycheck of calendar 2026.
