A Resolution Waiving the Bidding Requirements and Accepting the Proposal from Metropolitan Industries for a New Windham Lakes Lift Station Pump

Whereas, pursuant to the provisions of 65 ILCS 5/8-9-1 and the provisions of the Village Ordinance No. 2793-00, the Village of Romeoville may vote by 2/3 of its Trustees then holding office to waive the requirements for public bidding on Village public work, or improvement projects; and,
Whereas, the expenditures for a new Windham Lakes Lift Station pump will be expensed in account number 60.08.24.266 in fiscal year 25/26; and,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES FOR THE VILLAGE OF ROMEOVILLE, WILL COUNTY, ILLINOIS, AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1: Incorporation of Recitals: The foregoing recitals are hereby incorporated into this Resolution as if fully set forth herein.
Section 2: Waiver of Public Bid Requirements: Pursuant to the provisions of 65 ILCS 5/8-9-1 and the provisions of the Village Ordinance No. 2793-00 the Village hereby waives the public bidding requirements otherwise applicable for the proposal from Metropolitan Industries in the amount of $25,558.00 for the new Windham Lakes Lift Station Pump. Recent modernization improvements at multiple lift stations have proved valuable to operators by allowing staff to more quickly and easily identify pump problems or inefficiencies sooner. Several pumps from three different locations were pulled and evaluated by staff and Metropolitan Industries for the cause of their degrading performance. Metropolitan was able to rebuild two pumps using parts from all three providing cost savings and only requiring the replacement of one pump at the Windham Lakes Lift Station.
Section 3: Repealer: All other Ordinances or parts of ordinances of the Village of Romeoville that are inconsistent with this ordinance are hereby expressly repealed.
