A Resolution Waiving the Bidding Requirements and Accepting the Contract for J. Congdon Sewer Service to Install a New Water Service Line at RC Hill Elementary School

Whereas, pursuant to the provisions of 65 ILCS 5/8-9-1 and the provisions of the Village Ordinance No. 2793-00, the Village of Romeoville may vote by 2/3 of its Trustees then holding office to waive the requirements for public bidding on Village public work, or improvement projects; and,
Whereas, the expenditures for the installation of a new water service line at RC Hill Elementary School will be expensed in account number 01.08.08.277; and,
Whereas, J. Congdon Sewer Service has provided a price of $27,543.33; and,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES FOR THE VILLAGE OF ROMEOVILLE, WILL COUNTY, ILLINOIS, AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1: Incorporation of Recitals: The foregoing recitals are hereby incorporated into this Resolution as if fully set forth herein.
Section 2: Waiver of Public Bid Requirements: Pursuant to the provisions of 65 ILCS 5/8-9-1 and the provisions of the Village Ordinance No. 2793-00 the Village hereby waives the public bidding requirements otherwise applicable for the installation of a new water service line at RC Hill Elementary School. The Village is currently under contract with J Congdon Sewer Service, Inc. for the Sub 5 Watermain Replacement Project that is currently underway and scheduled for completion this spring. J Congdon has provided a price of $27,543.33 to install the new exterior waterline to the school's property during this year's spring break period to avoid any interruptions when the school is in session.
Section 3: Repealer: All other Ordinances or parts of ordinances of the Village of Romeoville that are inconsistent with this ordinance are hereby expressly repealed.
