A Resolution Waiving the Bidding Requirements and Accepting the Proposal for Fertilizer and Weed Control Services from Trugreen

Whereas, pursuant to the provisions of 65 ILCS 5/8-9-1 and the provisions of the Village Ordinance No. 2793-00, the Village of Romeoville may vote by 2/3 of its Trustees then holding office to waive the requirements for public bidding on Village public work, or improvement projects; and,
Whereas, the expenditures for the fertilization, preemergence, and weed control of turf areas in the Village owned facilities, parks and rights-of-way are in the Fiscal Year 2025/2026 budget upon Village Board approval of the budget; and,
Whereas, the proposal was received from Trugreen for a term of three years 2025, 2026, and 2027, for the treatment of the 350 acres that they currently do for us and the pricing includes general costs for fertilization and weed control services in the $89-95 per acre range depending on the application rate; and,
Whereas, there is $185,000 budgeted for fertilizer treatments in fund 01.08.20.299 along with additional funds in 60.08.22.299 and 60.08.24.299 for water and sewer sites.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES FOR THE VILLAGE OF ROMEOVILLE, WILL COUNTY, ILLINOIS, AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1: Incorporation of Recitals: The foregoing recitals are hereby incorporated into this Resolution as if fully set forth herein.
Section 2: Waiver of Public Bid Requirements: Pursuant to the provisions of 65 ILCS 5/8-9-1 and the provisions of the Village Ordinance No. 2793-00 the Village hereby waives the public bidding requirements otherwise applicable to accepting the proposal from Trugreen for the fertilizer and weed control services for a term of three years.
Section 3: Repealer: All other Ordinances or parts of ordinances of the Village of Romeoville that are inconsistent with this ordinance are hereby expressly repealed.
