A Resolution Waiving the Bidding Requirements and Accepting the Proposal from Spiess Construction for the Emergency Replacement of the Storm Sewer at the intersection of McKool Ave and Gordon Ave

Whereas, pursuant to the provisions of 65 ILCS 5/8-9-1 and the provisions of the Village Ordinance No. 2793-00, the Village of Romeoville may vote by 2/3 of its Trustees then holding office to waive the requirements for public bidding on Village public work, or improvement projects; and,
Whereas, the expenditures for the storm sewer replacement at the intersection of McKool Ave and Gordon Ave and to the connection on Kirman Ave will be expensed from account 01.08.15.402 in the FY 24/25 Budget; and,
Whereas, Steve Spiess Construction, Inc has provided a proposal to replace 164ft of the 18" storm sewer pipe, install (2) 48" manholes to provide future access to the existing line; and install 55ft of 10" PVC SDR 26 pipe in the amount of $40,400.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES FOR THE VILLAGE OF ROMEOVILLE, WILL COUNTY, ILLINOIS, AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1: Incorporation of Recitals: The foregoing recitals are hereby incorporated into this Resolution as if fully set forth herein.
Section 2: Waiver of Public Bid Requirements: Pursuant to the provisions of 65 ILCS 5/8-9-1 and the provisions of the Village Ordinance No. 2793-00 the Village hereby waives the public bidding requirements otherwise applicable to the replacement of the storm sewer at the intersection of McKool Ave and Gordon Ave and along Kirman Ave to the connection.
Section 3: Repealer: All other Ordinances or parts of ordinances of the Village of Romeoville that are inconsistent with this ordinance are hereby expressly repealed.
Section 4: Severability: In the event any word, phrase, clause, sentence, paragraph, provision, or section of this Resolution or any portion thereof shall be held to be unconstitutional, unenforce...
