A Resolution Waiving the Bidding Requirements and Accepting the Proposal from Rod Baker Ford for the Purchase of a Five Ford Interceptor Police Squad Vehicles

Whereas, The Village of Romeoville ("The Village") is a municipality in accordance with the Constitution of the State of Illinois of 1970; and,
Whereas, The Village will purchase five ford interceptor police squad vehicles from Rod Baker Ford utilizing the municipal discount pricing which is $200.97 less per unit than the current suburban purchasing cooperative; and,
Whereas, The Village has $375,000 approved in the FY 24/25 budget for the purchase of these five vehicles. The purchase price each 2025 Ford Police Interceptor is $58,350.03, for a total of $291,750.15, and an additional $75,000 to various vendors for the equipment and upfitting of the vehicles; and,
Whereas, The Village Staff recommends waiving the bidding requirements for the purchase of five ford police interceptor vehicles utilizing funds in the account 05.11.02.410; and,
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES FOR THE VILLAGE OF ROMEOVILLE, WILL COUNTY, ILLINOIS, AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1: Incorporation of Recitals: The foregoing recitals are hereby incorporated into this Resolution as if fully set forth herein.
Section 2: Waiver of Public Bid Requirements: Pursuant to the provisions of 65 ILCS 5/8-9-1 and the provisions of the Village Ordinance No. 2793-00 the Village hereby waives the public bidding requirements otherwise applicable to the purchase of five Ford Police Interceptors in the amount of $58,350.03 each, totaling $291,750.15 and an additional $75,000 to various vendors for the equipment and upfitting of the vehicles and provides for the potential additional expenditures for services as authorized by the Village Manager and Village Attorney.
