A Resolution Waiving the Bidding Requirements and Accepting the Proposals from Metropolitan Industries for the Upgrade and Modernization of Six Sewage Lift Stations

Whereas, pursuant to the provisions of 65 ILCS 5/8-9-1 and the provisions of the Village Ordinance No. 2793-00, the Village of Romeoville may vote by 2/3 of its Trustees then holding office to waive the requirements for public bidding on Village public work, or improvement projects; and,
Whereas, the expenditures for the upgrade and modernization of six sewage lift stations will be expensed in account number 60.08.24.408; and,
Whereas, staff proposing to upgrade these six lift stations through Metropolitan Industries at a cost of $211,818 including all parts, programming, and labor.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES FOR THE VILLAGE OF ROMEOVILLE, WILL COUNTY, ILLINOIS, AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1: Incorporation of Recitals: The foregoing recitals are hereby incorporated into this Resolution as if fully set forth herein.
Section 2: Waiver of Public Bid Requirements: Pursuant to the provisions of 65 ILCS 5/8-9-1 and the provisions of the Village Ordinance No. 2793-00 the Village hereby waives the public bidding requirements otherwise applicable for the proposal from Metropolitan Industries in the amount of $211,818 for the upgrade and modernization of six sewage lift stations. As part of the upgrades, each station would receive a thorough electrical overhaul, new operator interface screen and new PLC with the most current and standardized operating program. Two stations will also receive new stainless steel traffic boxes as the old steel boxes are heavily corroded.
Section 3: Repealer: All other Ordinances or parts of ordinances of the Village of Romeoville that are inconsistent with this ordinance are hereby expressly repealed.
